STEM 2: LET THE GAMES BEGIN...
"PAY DIRT" WITH THE DALLAS BEST
On Saturday, September 26th, Sunnyvale HS students kicked-off their first robotics competition of the year with the Dallas BEST (Boosting Engineering, Science, & Technology). Students were presented with a mining challenge called "Pay Dirt. " In this competition, students are given 6-weeks to create a robot that can travel through tunnels, gather materials, and transport objects to different sub-levels within their shaft on a 24' x 24' game field. Students were given materials, supplies, and software to program and create these robots, thanks to sponsors like Texas Instruments, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Math Works, and more.
Students will competed against 29 other schools at Eastfield College on November 7th. Students enjoyed all components of the competition from the games, to the marketing, and presentation
